I'm sure a good many of you have seen the dArama going on here with this contest.

Makes me kind of laugh a bit to be honest. Then makes me kinda wanna puke in my mouth a little bit. You guys get pretty hellbent out of shape over things sometimes. Shepard Fairey is a theif. He's a rip off artist. He has no talent. etc etc.

Personally I think he is a douche bag personality wise and I think he is pretty ego motivated, but as an artist I don't think he's a thief and don't think he is out to rip anyone on dA off. The guy is far too obsessed with his public image to do something so idiotic.

As far as him being a hack no talent artist...well, I gotta disagree with the people who think that. Despite me thinking he's an opportunistic money driven egomaniac, when it comes down to it he is a fantastic artist who has done some pretty iconic things in his day thus far. I don't feel he deserves to be name dropped with people like Warhol or Lichtenstein though as his work, while impressive, is not all THAT original or genre creating. I prefer someone with pure raw talent like Banksy or tons of people in the 7th Letter crew.

I'd say he's comparable to this generations Mark Kostabi or maybe Jasper Johns.

But who cares, the contest is fucking sweet and for a good cause and will give the winner a massive amount of exposure and at the end of the day that's what competing is all about.


So shut the fuck up, quit the whining, ill informed legal arguments, gradeschool political debates, bible thumping nd make some art you fuckers.

I'm close to what I need, or to be clear in a proximity where I should be able to handle the rest of the expenses so thank you again. Sorry for the bluntness but this is about to become one of those sob story I’m broke and can you maybe donate a few bucks to my Paypal account journals. I’ve seen them pop up on dA fairly often over the years, thankfully most are for what appear to be legit reasons, sometimes, they have been outright scams, and I’ve always had very mixed feelings on them in general.


But…here I sit, broke and needing to move out of LA by the 18th, so 14ish days from now. I thought I had enough to cover it, but as boxes lead to needing tape for boxes and pets need vet visits to be shipped on the plane and the plane ups the rates of said shipping, well suddenly enough turns to not so much and due to my landlord and back owed rent, the 18th date is set in stone for real. That and I’ve been existing off of unemployment for a good while now. Lemme tell ya, NOT a good time to be not working in LA, hell anywhere in the USA but LA in particular is a nightmare. I’m amazed I’ve gotten by as long as I have.

And I've sold all I have to sell, borrowed all I can borrow, even thought about prostitution but with all the out of work models here that shit is rough.

I’ll explain all this later though once I’m done moving and get settled into my new home in old Wisconsin. Because therein, as they say, lies a tale. Where living is cheap and there are jobs to be had and thankfully a lot of people are computer and digitally illiterate and money is something they aren’t short of.

But that doesn’t help me now, so I sit here on the virtual curb with my virtual spare change sign asking if you can donate some cash my way. I can repay it once moved if you want, work out commissions, do something embarrassing and get photos ( once I move, my camera is back in WI sadly ) or so on. I will leave the requests up to you should you choose to help me out. I don’t ever expect money for nothing, but I do expect my chicks for free.
