Andrew Wood. Mother Love Bone and prior to that Malfunkshun. Seattle's short lived glam god.

But in 1990 he ended up selling his life for one more fix and one stupid needle ended a promising career for what could have been one of the biggest bands of all time.

Mother Love Bone was the perfect mix of sleaze, passion, sex, rock and roll, the best elements of glam rock, and some of the wittiest double entendre lyrical word play around. Had he lived this band could have smoked bands like Guns and Rose and that ilk.

Two of the members, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament went on to form another band you may have heard of. Pearl Jam I think But they never recovered musically to the degree they had in MLB. If you have never heard MLB and don’t like Pearl jam don’t discard checking it out.
They are for sure 2 different beasts. Mother Love Bone is one of those bands that makes you want to be a rock star.
